Questrade has a few limitations on what is deemed an “active” account and is returned via the api.

The user needs to have $1000 balance and has hold this balance for 2 to 3 business days. Additionally, if the user has a QuestWealth Account that is also not supported.

<aside> 💡 Q: I cannot place orders in my TFSA/RRSP account.

Questrade restricts trading on certain assets in TFSA and RRSP accounts. Typically these are penny stocks and listings on over the counter exchange.

They do this because the volatility of these assets is flagged as too risky for TFSA/RRSP accounts.
